Trained as a silversmith in her native Germany, Petra’s approach to jewelry making is informed foremost by the European tradition of applied art. She relishes in creating jewelry with reoccuring themes – rhythmical arrangements of several elements, repetition of similar forms or colors and/or the unexpected contrast of differently textured materials. Petra is endlessly facinated by the wealth of different colors found in nature – the brilliant shades of red and pink, the sea of blues or the transparency and subtlety of lightly lilac-colored sapphires.
