Chan Luu
A native of Vietnam, Chan Luu came to the U.S. to study at Boston University for a business degree. But fate had other things stored for her. Following her dream of being a fashion designer, she moved to Los Angeles wherein she enrolled at FiDM wherein she received a degree in Fashion Design in 1975.
Armed with a business degree and intimate knowledge of fashion, Chan Luu opened her first boutique in Rolling Hills Estates in 1982 carrying European designer clothing and accessories for women.
Though the business was literally a success both personally and financially, Chan Luu’s heart is in designing so in 1996 she produced her first jewelry collection. In 2004, the label expanded to women’s ready-to-wear.
That same year, she opened her flagship store in Robertson Blvd. in downtown Los Angeles. The next year (2005), Chan Luu opened a showroom in New York.
Sold in major department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, and Citrine Chan Luu’s popularity among the fashionista set continues to increase.
